Bob and Jeanette Hallock were born and raised on the North Fork of Long Island and have made it their life-long home. Bob is a successful builder who exhibits the highest standards of craftsmanship, which is evidenced in some of the finest homes on Long Island's East End. Jeanette is a talented decorator. Both love antiques and dote on their eight grandchildren -- shared interests that inspired them to replicate century-old wooden folk toys. First made gifts, over the years their creations have become highly collectible.

Today, Bob still carves each piece by hand from select pine or linden. Jeanette hand paints each wooden sculpture with the same love and meticulous attention to detail as she did the first. Each is then signed and dated. Many are limited editions, with each item numbered. Because every Hallock creation is hand-carved and painted, no two are exactly alike.

The folk style and the artistic flare of their work are enjoyed by collectors all across the country and grace some of the finest private and museum collections. Their carvings include Germain style Santas and platform toys that are crafted in the style of the original antiques. It is their Sunday Toys, however, that capture the hearts and imaginations of collectors young and old. The sight of Noah and his wife standing on the Ark surrounded by a wonderful assortment of animals brings out the child in everyone.

Each year new pairs of animals are created to join Noah and his wife. This year a set of Noah's three sons and their wives was also added (6 figures). The animals and Noah's family are available for purchase only by those lucky enough to own an original Hallock Ark.

The Hallocks' work has been featured in numerous publications, including Early American Life Directory of Traditional American Crafts, Mary Emmerling's Country (Christmas edition), Family Circle, Distinction and Country Accents. Early American Homes magazine named a Hallock Santa one of the best Santas of the year in 1995 and again in 1996, and a number of the Hallocks' works have been pictured in various editions of the magazine. In 1999 the White House asked Hallocks to create an origianl piece to decorate the Christmas tree in the Blue Room.
