Linda Carter Lefko has been a researcher, teacher and painter of historic decorative arts for over thirty years. She has done independent museum research in the United States and Europe. Her experience includes teaching and lecturing for several organizations and museums including Hitchcock Museum in Riverton, CT; American Folk Art Museum, NYC; Historical Society of Early American Decoration; The Society of Gilders and The Stencil Artisan’s League. Using the historic pieces as inspiration, Linda takes great pride in her reproduction work.
Lefko’s interests are diverse – teaching classes, doing restoration work, commission work, marbling fireplaces, painting trade signs and consulting with architects and designers as an Historic Decorative advisor, even painting a 40’Hudson River style wall mural in a Greek Revival mansion[SAM1] . In addition to writing several articles on historic graining, wall murals and bride’s boxes for Early American Life Magazine, The Artistic Stenciler and The Faux Finisher Magazine, Lefko co-authored the book The Art of Theorem Painting. She does design work for a pre-cut theorem, bronze powder and silhouette stencil business, www.crafterscornerinc.com.
