Thomas and Patricia Hooper together own and operate ASL Pewter Foundry, which they established in 1995 and have since expanded to include the making of pewter tableware and household and personal items with original designs inspired by tradition, mythology, and folklore.
The Hoopers share a fascination with European and American history, which translates to their work. They make their own molds from which to cast unique pieces. They have also acquired and use a collection of historical and antique bronze, aluminum, and steel molds.
Using traditional lathe work, they create their own plates and goblets. The process includes cutting wooden forms to each desired shape. The result is an inclusive line of wholly innovative and exceptional pewter ware that is functional as well as decorative. All of their pewter is 100 percent lead free and food safe.
