Jeanne and Joanne Kreuser are second generation fine craftsmen. Both were born and raised in Wisconsin by working class parents with six children. They were exposed to a large variety of hand craft techniques from doll making to weaving (the macrame craze of the 1970's!) to painting.

After college they couldn't leave that urge to create behind, and began to explore different mediums based on their childhood experiences. Influenced by an account of "poor man's porcelain" from the 18th century, they began experimenting with techniques in 1986 and began creating Folk Art sculptural painted canvas in 1987.

Influenced by antiques and children's books, their self taught style is uniquely their own with a combination of charm and practical craftsmanship which defines the roots of true Folk Art. Their work reflects the clean lines of Folk Art without the degeneration of primitive styling.New work is created each year in limited quantities (usually 10 or fewer of each design) to keep the results fresh, new and exclusively one of a kind. The work has been described as Fine Craft, with each design resulting in an original, hand crafted collectible. They deliberately price their work to reflect their humble beginning so that art remains within reasonable means of the working class.

Jeanne has a BA from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee and a Juris Doctorate from Seattle University School of law. She is currently an Independent Consultant in the area of the federal regulations which protect persons who participate in human subject research.

Joanne has BFA from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee and has been an Administrator at the University since 1986.
