Portrait of Lisa Mentler

Lisa Mentler has practiced various art forms throughout her life. From a very young age, early American crafts were performed in her home and she developed a love for all things old. Mentler went on to earn a B.F.A from Kent State University and worked as a graphic artist for many years. Recently she began painting for fun and discovered an interest in theorem painting. Through hours of research, reading, and practice, she taught herself the many techniques she now uses. She is inspired by reproducing antique theorems and also by creating new designs based on past experiences and family history.

Mentler's time currently is divided between painting and managing her family’s household. She and her family reside in Avon, Ohio, a small town located near Lake Erie in the historic, French Creek District, known for its antiques, unique shops, family festivals, and community events.
