Chris Harter owns and operates a one-man Windsor chair and fine furniture-making shop in central New York. He has been a Windsor chairmaker for twenty-nine years; with each piece being made individually, using traditional tools and construction methods. His chairs, tables, beds, clocks and case furniture reside in many homes and museums across the country and in Europe and Australia.
Artists appearing in the 20201 Directory of Traditional American Crafts have been selected, and the best of their handiwork has been photographed at Cedar Grove, an 18th Century house museum operated by the Philadelphia Museum of Art. Look for the Directory in our August 2021 issue.
