Portrait of Patricia Sale

Patricia Sale began her artistic career as a painter. As a member of the Historical Society of Early American Decoration, she studied old techniques of stenciling, murals, gold leaf, country tin painting, theorem, reverse glass and faux finishing. Through this work she developed an interest in folk art, especially needlework. Her turning point came when she decided to make a penny rug. Inspired by one she had seen, she has worked with her own designs in wool fabric for the past six years.

"I find it challenging to design, and relaxing to sew," said Sale. "And the anticipation of the finished work is exciting."

Her work is sold through folk art shows and by contacting her directly.
