Painted framed art is that which you can hang on the wall. At that it runs a wide gamut that includes folk paintings ('fine' artists would call them naïve), theorems (stencil-assisted painting), and fraktur (combined calligraphy and painting). Sometimes the carefully painted and grained frame is as much a work of art as the painting itself. These are not reproductions. Most of the artists in the Directory work in a specific painting tradition and create their own designs in harmony with it.
