Anything big can be made small if one has good enough eyesight and even more patience. Making miniatures has long been a show-off skill and, for the collector it has the practical benefit of making big collections fit into small spaces. (Try putting full-size furniture into a showcase!) For the Directory, artists tackle everything from cutters (the one-horse open sleigh bound for grandmother's house) to hooked rugs. These are decorative items of no practical use (unless Stuart Little has made a reservation at your B&B) but items of great beauty and wonder.
