Diane Louise Paul crafts her leatherwork with hand tools exactly as it was done 100 years ago. From cutting the leather with a head knife to hand-stitching with two needles and a stitching horse (or sewing it on an antique sewing machine). Her shop is not a production studio but rather a small working shop where she is both the designer and builder.

Paul has lived in a small town on the seacoast of New Hampshire called North Hampton for 35 years. She is a member of the League of New Hampshire Craftsmen, the American Bell Association, Inc., the Daughters of the American Revolution, the International Leather Crafters, Saddle Harness and Allied Trade Association, and the Seacoast Growers' Association farmers' market. In her free time she trains horses and goes antiquing in search of treasures.
