May 5, 2012 in Summersville, South Carolina: Garrison Weekend—The village of Dorchester once played a key role in the defensive strategy of Charleston and South Carolina. The fort still stands as a reminder of the colony’s fear of attack during the French and Indian War. Come out to see the volunteers and members of the Independent Company of South Carolina as they bring the village back to life with activities and demonstrations throughout the day.
